The Waseca Police Department in collaboration with the Waseca Public Schools has assigned a School Liaison Officer (SLO) at the Waseca High School. The SLO routinely participates in matters affecting Hartley Elementary, Central Intermediate School, Waseca Junior High, Southside Learning Center, WCOC, and Sacred Heart.

The SLO conducts investigations based on referrals from administrators in the Waseca School District and the police department, or by other persons in the community, on matters relating to prevention of delinquency and infractions of the law.

The SLO teaches DARE within the school district.
